October 18-22

Photo Retake Day is Monday!!  Please Email me if your child needs a photo retake.

This week we participated in Adventure running during our Phys Ed classes on Tuesday and Wednesday. Classes in all grades practiced their endurance running, learned how to properly read a map, and follow it to collect clues and solve a mystery word.  All the students seemed to enjoy the tasks and being outdoors.

Students also had fun doing pumpkin relays in Phys Ed...they had to do a ring toss, roll the pumpkin as fast as they could and also carry the pumpkin.  It was entertaining for all!

In Math, we have been reviewing fact families.  Students have been practicing how 3 numbers all relate to each other to create 2 addition facts and 2 subtraction facts.

We have been busy preparing to Host the Remembrance Day assembly.  Ask your child if they can sing you the song we have been practicing.

This Friday will be our Halloween Celebration!  Please have your child wear their costume to school.  Please remember to send a a face mask for them to wear even if their costume has a mask.  Students are so excited to show off their costumes!

It's October!!

Happy October!  It's been such a busy month in Grade Two and we are all finally settling into the routines in our classroom.  We were very fortunate to attend our first field trip at Granary Road.  We learned a lot about Small, Crawling and Flying Animals.  This is the unit we are studying in Science.  We also got to explore while there and get some physical activity.  Thank you to all the parents who were able to volunteer with us!

With our beautiful fall weather we have been able to do some outdoor exploration.  We went on a bug hunt with our magnifying glasses and recorded in our sketch books what we found.

We also had Teacher's Pet come into our classroom to help us expore the Acadian life.  Students were able to learn about the past, the landscape, the culture of Acadian people. We focused on the town of Meteghan which is an Acadian fishing community in Nova Scotia.  Ask you child what they learned.

Thank you for all your donations for the Terry Fox Foundation!  We all had a great run!

Reminder...there is no school on Friday as it is a PD day and Monday is no school due to Thanksgiving.

**Please send headphones for your child to have at school in a labelled ziploc bag if you haven't done so already.**
