It's February!

 It is hard to believe we are in February already!  This week we have been talking about what makes a good friend.  The students were asked to create a poster that described the steps needed to make a friend.  They were required to include transition words that we have been working on in our writing. 

In Science, we have been exploring hot and cold temperatures.  This week we did an experiment using balloons and and hot and cold water.  We observed the effects that these different temperatures had on the air inside the balloons. Students noticed that the hot water made the balloon expand and the cold water made the balloon contract.  

We also celebrated Lunar New Year.  In honour of it being The Year of the Tiger we drew our own tigers.  

Volunteers needed!  If you would like to come enjoy a couple hours of SCIENCE - EXPLORING LIQUIDS with us, please email me.  We are asking for PARENT VOLUNTEERS (4 if possible) and it will be held here in our classroom at school.  You need to have a valid police security clearance as well.

This year we are able to bring valentine's for our classmates to exchange on February 14!  If you child would like to bring valentines, please have them make one for every student so all students are included.  Please do not send food as we are unable to share those items at this time.  I have included a list below of the first names of all classmates.
